What is Normatec compression therapy?

Normatec compression devices enhance the body’s natural ability to recover. Using compression attachments rejuvenates muscle tissue and dramatically reduces tightness and soreness. When used as part of a routine, compression therapy helps to speed recovery, improve outcomes, and increase patient satisfaction.

Originally created to help cancer patients who had lymphedema and fluid buildup in their limbs, compression therapy is easy-to-use and effective. Normatec is heavily utilized in professional sports facilities, gyms, health clubs, spas as well as by chiropractors and physical therapists. Invented by MD-PhD, Dr. Laura Jacobs and perfected by professional athletes, Normatec by Hyperice is the go-to equipment for the world’s best.

How can compression therapy help me?

Compression therapy is great for athletes, and those who deal with poor circulation or chronic pain and is well known for its rehabilitation capacity. It is scientifically proven to reduce inflammation and swelling and increase circulation in the body.

The dynamic air compression system surrounds your arms, legs, or hips and pulsates between different zones while other areas hold, improving the movement of fluid out of the limbs, leading to faster recovery and recuperation.

What can I expect during a compression therapy session?

Before the Normatec Pulse Massage pattern begins, the user will experience a pre-inflation cycle, during which the connected attachments are molded to the user’s body shape. Once the pre-inflation cycle is complete, the Normatec Massage Pattern starts in the foot, hand or upper quad (depending on attachments in use) and moves upwards zone-by-zone massaging the limb and mobilizing fluid out of the extremities. Similar to the kneading and stroking performed during a massage, each zone of the attachments will first compress in a pulsing manner and then release as the compression pattern works its way up your limb. When the top zone completes its massage, there will be a brief rest period and then the cycle will begin again. This will repeat until the session time runs out.

Are there any warnings for compression therapy?

The Normatec recovery systems are FDA cleared devices that are safe for use.
